TOLLS ON IRISH ROADS
A barrier-free tolling system now operates on the M50 Motorway. There is no toll barrier or tolling booth and therefore there is no cash payment facility available at the tolling point on the M50.
Drivers of all vehicles using the section of the M50 between Junction 6 (N3 Blanchardstown) and Junction 7 (N4 Lucan) have to pay a toll.
Overhead cameras will record the number plate and the vehicle will be traced to its registered owner by reference to the National Vehicle Registration Database, which records all vehicles registered in Ireland.
County Car Rentals has an account facility with the toll operator for its fleet. The toll will be automatically charged to the car rental company’s account for each toll incurred.
The total amount of tolls will be recharged by County Car Rentals to its customer at termination of rental.
As the M50 is close to Dublin airport, some tolls may by not be processed by the time of returning the vehicle and will be recharged to a customer’s credit card at a later date. Therefore, it is essential that the customer advises County Car Rentals of all tolls incurred.
A penalty of 15 Euro per toll will be charged for tolls not declared and subsequently found to apply to the rental vehicle.
Please note cash payment facilities are available at tolling booths on all other toll roads in Ireland |
